About
Diabetes
Diabetes is caused when the beta cell is either damaged or destroyed, thereby losing its ability to reproduce insulin properly. This is caused when the langerhans is blocked by excessive fat, which is usually accumulated in the body with too much consumption of meat products, including fish. A key method of treatment is to supplement the dissipated body fluids in order to decrease the temperature in the interior of the body and to purify the blood.
Diabetes is the third
leading cause of death in the United States after heart disease and cancer.
It is a disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin
which is necessary for the body to metabolize glucose (sugar). The glucose
accumulates and stays in the blood stream, causing high blood-sugar levels
that become diagnosed as diabetes. It affects an estimated 20 million
people in the United States, with another 15 million not yet diagnosed
and an economic cost of over $100 billion yearly. Globally, the statistics
are staggering.
The first stop, after being diagnosed with diabetes is usually to your
family doctor for daily blood tests and instructions on lifestyle changes
and medications. Over time, complications from diabetes can lead to blindness,
kidney failure, heart disease, nerve damage and limb amputations. Since
there is no cure, there are only treatments to control it and delay its
devastating affects. Current medications can have serious side-effects
including nausea, diarrhea, skin rash, weight gain, respiratory infections,
liver damage and headaches.
People with diabetes -- both Type 1 and Type 2 -- have an increased risk
of severe complications if the disease goes undiagnosed, untreated, or
is poorly managed. The high blood-glucose levels cause nerve damage and
blockages in the arteries, which result in numbness and tingling in the
legs, feet and other areas. Most people with diabetes also suffer from
high blood pressure and cholesterol, which increases the risk of heart
disease and stroke. On average, 65% of diabetics die directly from this
disease.
